BEAUTIFUL CROCHET CHOKER 6
Tiny triangles choker

The jewellery bug still reigns and I’m still working with new ideas for neck pieces or chokers.

If you’ve been following my blogs, then you will have paid attention to the title of this blog, you’ll see a nondescript “6”, which will indicate that this is not the first blog of chokers.  If you like what you see here, follow me via the different social media given at the bottom of this blog, for more of the same.. and lots of other free crochet stuff.

Welcome back as we work on this new challenge together.

Thank you for joining me.

In case you have just joined me, know that you can access all of my earlier creations by checking under ‘categories’ on the right hand side of this blog under “Labels”.  Then, for your convenience, follow me here or on Facebook, You Tube, Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram.

Please check the top of this blog for easy video tutorials on all stitches used in today's pattern.  For your convenience there video tutorials through the blog too
Please read through all my notes before you pick up your hook, so you know just where we're heading in our pattern.
In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement.
This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.

For this project we will need to ‘construct’ a small triangle and for that we will use an array of stitches, small to big back to small.  The different lengths of the stitches will create the triangle automatically.
If you so desire, we will pop in a picot at the centre of the triangle.  This is also a space that you can insert a bead if desired, but if you so decide, please add your beads onto your yarn now. (Please read Note at the end)

Hooks on.. let’s go.

I like my foundation stitches, and have opted to start with the foundation double crochet. I urge you to try this stitch as it really gives a neat finish and in one row, you will have the dc ‘created’.  It’s also a quick small project for you to try a new stitch.

Foundation double crochet (fdc) : This is a unique way of starting a project directly with a row of double crochet stitches.  Here is an easy video tutorial https://youtu.be/hjNUYVvyU9k

Start with fdc in multiples of 6 for the length or round neck circumference.  Turn.

Row 1 : sc in the 1st fdc ;
(ch 6, sk next 6 fdc, sc in the next fdc) ;
rep (to) till end.  Turn.

In the following row, we will create our triangle, which is the long array of stitches all done in one ch-sp.

Triple Crochet : trc : wrap yarn twice around hook, insert hk into st ; yo (4 lps on hk); [yo, draw through 2 lps] three times.  One trc made.
Check out the video at https://youtu.be/A0y4BbgDTbs

Chainless start for Triple / Treble Crochet : I dislike the ch-2 / ch – 3 start, and this is what I do to start my row of trc.
Check out the video at https://youtu.be/f42MO0cGYC0

How to work a picot stitch : Traditionally for a ch-3 picot, you work (ch 3, sl-st in 3rd ch from hook).  For a ch-5 picot, you will do (ch 5, sl-st in 5th ch from hook).
Here’s a great video https://youtu.be/8s3zVaBcn4s

Row 2 : sc in the 1st sc ;
(1 sc ; 2 hdc ; 2 dc ; 1 trc ; 1 trc + picot ; 1 trc ; 2 dc ; 2 hdc ;
1 sc all in the next ch-6 sp) ;
*sk next sc, rep (to) once* ;
rep *to* till end ;
sc in the last sc.  Turn.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Note : As I suggested earlier, you can throw in a bead either along with the picot, or in every alternate picot (i.e one triangle has a picot, the next one had a bead); or you can just add beads in the place of a picot all along.

Either way you are going to have a stunning choker.

Do remember though that this is where you read all about this cute choker necklace.  So please add my blog link when you share and show off your project.  Thanks in advance.
